Barracuda Networks offers complete
backup protection from a single vendor, replacing traditional
media-based systems like tape. The Barracuda Backup Server
provides local backups and disaster recovery replication
to cloud storage, or across private networks. Storage needs
are reduced up to 50 times via inline data de-duplication.
Server and application data is protected through included
backup software with no per server or application licensing
fees.
"Data usage is increasing
quickly while IT budgets are falling under considerable
pressure," said Guy Suter, general manager of the Barracuda Backup Service. "Barracuda Networks is once again raising the bar on storage requirements and
deliverables. We make the choice simple for customers transitioning
from old tapes to modern backup technology by doubling
the cloud storage available for the same low cost.”
Barracuda Networks broke the mold
for cloud storage when its flat-rate pricing was first
introduced. Typically, low pricing is reserved for customers
with special volume discounts. The Barracuda Networks pricing
difference allows all customers, regardless of size, to
benefit from the cloud's scale with a single low flat-rate
storage price. Barracuda Networks’ cloud storage efficiently
stores de-duplicated customer data at two locations in
addition to a third copy at the customer's own site.
The increased storage amount is
immediately available to both new and current Barracuda
Backup Service customers. “We are excited to make this
change across all of our customers right away. We believe
existing customers should be able to take advantage of
the new pricing without having to wait for contract renewals.
It really is a no brainer for companies looking to leverage
this type of technology at a fraction of the cost of legacy
solutions,” continued Suter.
Backup software provided by Barracuda
Networks supports Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange,
Microsoft SQL Server, and HyperV under a low site-wide
Energize Updates license, which includes access to future
updates. Competing backup software solutions often charge
complex per server and per application fees with extra
upgrade costs. Customers switching to the Barracuda Backup
Service can potentially save thousands of dollars on typical
backup costs while implementing a modern backup solution
with considerable technical advantages.
