MXI Security™--the leader in secure mobile computing and portable security solutions—and Tresys Technology––a provider of technology and services to customers with high security requirements—today announced that they will be demonstrating MXI devices on Tresys’s trusted air gap transfer solution at Booth 600 during FOSE 2011 in Washington, D.C taking place from July 19-21.
Tresys XD Air was developed under the USG program name of FiST (File Sanitization Tool) in response to the highly publicized USB "thumb drive" threat in November 2008. As a result, USB devices were restricted or even banned in critical environments. However, this tool has been specifically screened and vetted by NSA and JTF-GNO to facilitate the tasks and procedures described in a 2008 DoD Communications Tasking Order (CTO) for USB scanning and file sanitization.
USB drives have been widely used to share vital information between users, partners, and applications so the need for a solution was evident. XD Air provides unique mobile media protection by ONLY allowing trusted content to be shared. Using a kiosk-based solution, XD Air inspects, filters, and cleans data on the device, making it safe to use, even in the most sensitive networks.
MXI Security’s leading edge zero footprint and driverless Stealth Key M500 Series of portable security devices feature AES 256-bit hardware encryption and offer 1-, 2- and/or 3-factor authentication for the highest security levels. All authentication processes, including biometrics, are performed completely within the trusted hardware, fully isolated from malicious attacks on the host computer. MXI Stealth Key devices are fully manageable with McAfee ePO®.
With increased concerns over the security risks associated with the use of portable security devices and recent cyber attacks, the integration of MXI Security’s FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validated devices with Tresys XD Air will now enable DoD customers to securely transfer sensitive information without compromising their agency’s mission-critical environments. MXI drives used with the Tresys XD Air create a complete package of security to address the multiplicity of concerns about both Data-At-Rest (DAR) and transfer of data between disconnected systems.
“We are pleased that MXI Security’s solutions integrate with Tresys XD Air. Tresys is a leader in developing innovative and advanced technologies to solve their clients’ most sensitive security needs” said Jack Sebbag, VP of Sales & Marketing - North America for MXI Security. “With the support of Tresys, MXI Security will now offer the most advanced security solutions available for agencies to safely and securely transport mission-critical information.”
“The integration of MXI’s Stealth line of portable security devices gives our customers increased flexibility in both choice and support of secure devices,” said Tresys CEO Gary Latham. “Our customers require secure core-to-edge security solutions to fulfill their mission-critical needs and this integration helps to support that.”
